Anti-wrinkle injections are a popular and effective treatment for reducing lines and wrinkles on the face. We offer Botox®, Jeuveau®, and Xeomin®, which work by temporarily relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles, resulting in a softer, more youthful appearance. In addition to smoothing wrinkles and frown lines, these injections can lift the eyebrows, reduce bunny lines around the nose, and even treat migraines and excessive sweating. With no downtime, anti-wrinkle injections are a convenient option for achieving your aesthetic goals.

Anti-wrinkle injections are used to temporarily relax specific muscles on the face in order to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. During treatment, the neuromodulator is administered in small quantities into targeted muscles. The injection prevents the release of acetylcholine, a chemical transmitter that activates muscle contraction, causing the muscle to become temporarily paralyzed until the injection is metabolized by the body. It typically takes 3 to 10 days after treatment for the full effects of the injection to become noticeable.

The duration of anti-wrinkle injection effects can vary among individuals. On average, results last up to 3 months, though some may experience longer-lasting effects. The frequency of treatments needed to maintain results depends on the dosage administered and each person's response to the treatment, as well as how quickly the body breaks down the injectable product. Generally, it’s recommended to repeat treatments at regular intervals to maintain the desired results.

Anti-wrinkle injections are generally considered safe when administered by a qualified medical injector. These injections are relatively painless and straightforward, and side effects are typically mild and temporary. Some possible side effects of anti-wrinkle injections may include temporary bleeding or bruising, mild swelling, and a post-treatment headache. In rare cases, drooping of the eyelids or eyebrows may occur. It is important to note that anti-wrinkle injections should not be administered to individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding, trying to get pregnant, have had an allergic reaction to other botulinum toxin products, have a disease that affects the muscles and nerves, have bleeding problems, or have recently had surgery on the face.

Dermal fillers are injectable substances designed to restore volume, smooth out wrinkles, and enhance facial features, giving a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance. They are commonly used in areas such as the cheeks, lips, and around the mouth.

The duration of effects can vary based on the type of filler used and the area treated. On average, results last from 6 months up to 18 months. Factors such as the your  metabolism, lifestyle, and treatment area can influence how long the effects last.

There may be minimal discomfort during the injection process. Many dermal fillers come with added lidocaine, a local anesthetic, to help numb the area and reduce discomfort. Additionally, ice packs and numbing cream will be applied before treatment to further minimize any pain.

After receiving dermal fillers, you may notice mild swelling, bruising, or redness at the injection site. These effects are typically temporary and should resolve within a few days.

Yes, dermal fillers are often combined with other aesthetic treatments, such as neurotoxin injections (like Botox) or skin rejuvenation procedures. This combination can enhance overall results and create a more harmonious appearance.

To prepare for your filler appointment and ensure the best results, start with a pre-treatment consultation to discuss your goals, medical history, and any concerns with your cosmetic injector. Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, and fish oil, for at least a week prior to minimize the risk of bruising. Staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment can help your skin look plump and healthy. It's also advisable to limit alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours before treatment, as it can increase the likelihood of bruising and swelling. If you've had other cosmetic procedures, consult your cosmetic injector about how long to wait before getting fillers. Arriving at your appointment without makeup, if possible, allows for a clean treatment area. Finally, don’t hesitate to ask your cosmetic injector any questions you have about the procedure, recovery, or aftercare, to feel more prepared and confident as you head into your appointment!
