Microneedling Skin Pen in Houston

Microneedling

Microneedling is an effective, minimally invasive procedure that rejuvenates your skin by stimulating collagen production. Using a device with fine needles, microneedling creates tiny micro-injuries in the skin, prompting your body's natural healing response and boosting the production of collagen and elastin. This treatment enhances skin texture, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, improves the overall appearance of acne scars, and tightens pores. Additionally, microneedling boosts the absorption of skincare products, leading to a smoother, more radiant complexion with minimal downtime.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here you can find answers to frequently asked questions. If you cannot find the answer, feel free to contact us via email or phone.

  • Microneedling

Most of our clients experience only mild discomfort to none during the procedure. A topical numbing cream is applied before your treatment to minimize any pain or discomfort.

The microneedling procedure typically takes about 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area.

The number of sessions needed depends on your skin goals and concerns. Most of our clients see significant results after 3 to 6 sessions, spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart. Results can typically be seen within a few weeks as collagen production increases and the skin begins to improve. Full results usually become apparent after several sessions.

Microneedling is generally safe and effective for a variety of skin types, but there are some individuals who may not be ideal candidates for the procedure.

  • Active Acne: If you have active, inflamed acne, microneedling might aggravate the condition or spread bacteria, potentially leading to more breakouts. It’s usually recommended to wait until the acne is under control before undergoing microneedling.
  • Rosacea: People with rosacea may find that microneedling exacerbates their condition. The procedure can increase redness and irritation in sensitive skin.
  • Extremely Sensitive Skin: If your skin is extremely sensitive or reactive to various treatments or products, microneedling might cause excessive irritation or adverse reactions.
  • Darker Skin Tones: Individuals with darker skin tones should exercise caution with microneedling due to the potential risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. This is a condition where dark spots or discoloration can occur after skin trauma.
  • Keloid Scarring: If you have a history of keloid scarring (overgrowth of scar tissue), microneedling may increase the risk of keloid formation or worsen existing scars.
  • Recent Use of Certain Medications: If you are taking medications that affect skin healing or sensitivity, such as certain steroids or blood thinners, you should consult with your healthcare provider. These medications can impact the healing process or increase the risk of side effects.
  • Sunburned Skin: Microneedling should be avoided on skin that is currently sunburned or heavily tanned, as it can further irritate the skin and impede the healing process.
  • Underlying Health Conditions: Individuals with certain health conditions, such as autoimmune disorders or chronic skin conditions, should consult with their healthcare provider before undergoing microneedling to ensure it’s safe for their specific health situation.
