What Is Lip Blushing
Lip blushing, also known as permanent lipstick, is a form of permanent makeup treatment designed to create soft, naturally tinted lips. This advanced treatment enhances lip shape, definition, and symmetry while adding customizable color. Whether you prefer a sheer tint or a richer tone, our artists tailor every detail to complement your natural features and style. Your lips, but better.
Using a digital machine, we gently implant premium pigments to create a soft, blushed effect that heals beautifully and looks fresh and natural. The result is youthful, fuller-looking lips with a seamlessly blended tone that enhances your natural color and makes daily lipstick optional.
Is this Right For You?
01 Soft, Natural Lip Color
You want to enhance your lips with a subtle wash of color that improves tone, shape, and definition without looking like heavy lipstick.
02 Enhance Tone and Symmetry
Lip blushing can help correct uneven tone, add definition, and create a more balanced, youthful appearance.
03 You’re Starting Fresh
If you’ve had previous lip tattooing, a consultation may be needed before moving forward.
What to Expect
Your lip blushing experience begins with a meticulous lip mapping process to ensure perfect symmetry and a beautifully balanced shape. Our expert artists take time to carefully assess your unique lip structure, considering facial proportions, cupid’s bow definition, and overall harmony. Using specialized measuring techniques, we create a symmetrical outline that enhances your natural shape while subtly correcting any minor asymmetries.
Next, we use a fine, removable pencil to sketch the outline, giving you a clear preview of the design before any pigment is applied. This step allows you to collaborate with your artist and make sure the final result reflects your vision, whether you want a soft, natural enhancement or a more defined lip contour. We want you to feel confident and excited about your new look.
This detailed outlining process is key to achieving a flattering, natural-looking result. It ensures your lips appear fuller, more even, and perfectly shaped, giving you the confidence of beautifully enhanced lips tailored just for you.

What should I do before my appointment?
Preparing properly helps ensure the best results and a smooth healing process:
No recent fillers: Avoid lip injections or fillers for at least 6 weeks prior to your appointment.
Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your visit.
Color reference: Bring your favorite lipstick or lip liner to help us match your desired shade.
Cold sore prevention: If you’re prone to cold sores or fever blisters, you’ll need an antiviral prescription from your doctor. Start taking it 2 days before your appointment and bring proof of prescription. This is required—no exceptions.
Moisturize: Make sure your lips are soft and hydrated. If they are cracked, peeling, or excessively dry, please contact us to reschedule.
What is the aftercare?
Expect minor swelling, tenderness, and scabbing for a few days. The color will appear darker at first and gradually lighten as your lips heal. Follow all aftercare instructions carefully for best results.
During the first 10 days of healing after getting permanent makeup, it’s important to avoid the following:
- Touching the Area: Avoid touching the treated area with your hands to prevent infection.
- Picking or Scratching: Do not pick, scratch, or rub the scabs or flakes to avoid pigment loss and scarring.
- Water Exposure: Keep the area dry; avoid swimming, hot tubs, saunas, and long showers.
- Sweating: Minimize activities that cause heavy sweating, such as intense workouts, as sweat can interfere with healing.
- Makeup: Avoid applying makeup on or near the treated area to prevent contamination and irritation.
- Skincare Products: Refrain from using creams, lotions, exfoliants, or other skincare products on the treated area unless recommended by your artist.
- Sun Exposure: Protect the area from direct sunlight and avoid tanning beds, as UV rays can cause fading and irritation.
- Sleeping on the Face: Try not to sleep on your face to prevent rubbing and pressure on the treated area.
- Alcohol and Caffeine: Limit alcohol and caffeine consumption, as they can thin the blood and delay the healing process.
- Facial Treatments: Avoid facials, chemical peels, laser treatments, and other cosmetic procedures that could affect the treated area.
How long does the lip blushing procedure take?
The duration varies depending on the area being treated and the complexity of the design. Typically, a session can last anywhere from 1 to 3 hours.
How long does lip blushing last?
Lip blushing typically lasts between 2 to 5 years, depending on factors like your skin type, lifestyle, and how well you care for your lips post-treatment. Over time, the color may fade slightly, but it remains subtle and natural. To maintain the vibrancy, many clients opt for a touch-up session every 1 to 2 years. Factors such as sun exposure, skincare routines, and individual skin healing can influence how long the color stays, so proper aftercare is key to maximizing the longevity of your results.
Are touch-ups necessary?
Yes, touch-ups are often necessary for permanent makeup. The initial application may not achieve the desired color intensity, so a touch-up helps fine-tune the pigment. Some areas may fade more quickly than others, and a touch-up ensures even color distribution. Adjustments may also be needed to perfect the shape and symmetry. Additionally, touch-ups help maintain the appearance over time, as all permanent makeup gradually fades. We recommend a touch-up within 6-8 weeks after the initial procedure, with maintenance touch-ups every 1-2 years depending on the individual’s skin type and lifestyle.
Is lip blushing right for everyone?
Lip blushing may not be suitable for individuals who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have certain skin conditions, active cold sores, or are currently taking blood thinners or acne medications. A consultation is recommended to determine your eligibility.
Important considerations:
- Active Herpes Simplex Virus (Cold Sores): Increases the risk of an outbreak and may affect healing.
- Recent Lip Fillers: A minimum of six weeks is required after lip injections before treatment.
- Chronic Dry or Chapped Lips: Can affect pigment retention and lead to uneven results, increased irritation, and prolonged healing.
