Please note that some clients may not be suitable for permanent makeup on the lips due to the natural undertones occurring in the skin.

Is a consultation required for Permanent Lipstick?

Important Information for All New Permanent Makeup Clients:

Photos: Please email photos of your lips to contact@dermaluxespa.com within 24 hours of booking. This allows us to review your lips and prepare for your appointment.
Consultation: While an in-person consultation isn’t always necessary, it is required before booking if your lips have been previously treated by another artist.
Deposit Policy: Please note: If you arrive for your appointment and we determine that we cannot proceed with the service due to previous work done elsewhere (and a consultation has not been performed), or if your lips have been recently filled with dermal fillers or are very dry (chapped), your deposit will be forfeited.

After Your Permanent Lipstick Appointment

Healing varies based on the individual and the area treated. Following the aftercare instructions provided to you on the day of your appointment is essential for optimal healing.

During the first 10 days of healing after getting permanent makeup, it’s important to avoid the following:

Touching the Area: Avoid touching the treated area with your hands to prevent infection.
Picking or Scratching: Do not pick, scratch, or rub the scabs or flakes to avoid pigment loss and scarring.
Water Exposure: Keep the area dry; avoid swimming, hot tubs, saunas, and long showers.
Sweating: Minimize activities that cause heavy sweating, such as intense workouts, as sweat can interfere with healing.
Makeup: Avoid applying makeup on or near the treated area to prevent contamination and irritation.
Skincare Products: Refrain from using creams, lotions, exfoliants, or other skincare products on the treated area unless recommended by your artist.
Sun Exposure: Protect the area from direct sunlight and avoid tanning beds, as UV rays can cause fading and irritation.
Sleeping on the Face: Try not to sleep on your face to prevent rubbing and pressure on the treated area.
Alcohol and Caffeine: Limit alcohol and caffeine consumption, as they can thin the blood and delay the healing process.
Facial Treatments: Avoid facials, chemical peels, laser treatments, and other cosmetic procedures that could affect the treated area.

How long does the Permanent Lipstick procedure take?

The duration varies depending on the area being treated and the complexity of the design. Typically, a session can last anywhere from 1 to 3 hours.

How long does Permanent Lipstick last?

Permanent lipstick is a long-lasting cosmetic enhancement, with results typically lasting between one and three years—sometimes even longer. However, the pigment will gradually fade over time. To maintain vibrant color and a well-defined shape, touch-up appointments are recommended if the color becomes nearly nonexistent.

Several factors can influence how long your results last, including lifestyle choices such as sun exposure and smoking, as well as how diligently you follow aftercare instructions. It’s important to remember that everyone’s lips heal differently, so individual results may vary. Choosing a reputable artist, carefully following aftercare guidelines, and scheduling touch-ups as needed are all essential for maximizing the longevity of your enhanced lips.

Are touch-ups necessary?

It's been a few years and my brows have held up really well! I got them touched up a while back, and also got my lips shaded. Getting my brows and lips shaded in has made a huge difference, and I'm not even a big makeup person. It is so nice to wakeup, throw on clothes and be able to walk out of the house looking polished without any effort. I get compliments on my brows all the time, even from other artist who microblade.

I've also sent probably 5 people to Kashia and everyone has been thrilled with the results. I'll never go anywhere else!

Original: Kashia did an incredible job on my brows! I wear very little makeup, but have thin brows and was tired of having to fill them in for Zoom meetings at work. My brows look totally natural, but fuller and she did a great job of keeping my natural shape (which is pretty arched) while cleaning it up just a bit.

I followed her instructions for after care and had no scabbing, no peeling and they took perfectly. I just had my touch up and I'm thrilled. She also did a great job on my mom, who had almost no eyebrows. I can't recommend her highly enough!

I'll definitely be back soon to get my lips shaded.
